About Us
My name is Valerie Logan, Owner/Artist at Gray Parrot Glass Studio. As a lifelong animal lover, I know how devastating it can be to lose your cherished companion.
My husband and I were deeply saddened by the death of our beloved gray parrot "Angus" in the summer of 2002. At nine years of age his life was cut short after succumbing to a fatal respiratory ailment.
The house was so much quieter without Angus. Gone was his greeting of "Hi Mommy! Did you miss me?" when I would come home from running an errand. Angus had such a sense of humor and was a wonderful companion to the whole family.
My studio was named in honor of our feathered friend, in 1996, soon after I started making glass beads.
For a time after his death I found it difficult to talk about him or to answer my business phone "Gray Parrot Glass Studio". But time does have a way of healing all wounds and Angus lives on with us in our hearts. We often laugh about funny things he would say and do.
It is because of Angus that I am offering my expertise in the art of glass beadmaking to those interested in preserving the memories of their beloved companions in a glass memorial keepsake.
